location: san bernardino, caracas
year: 2023
status: ideas preliminares
client: Hospital de Clínicas Caracas
The Hospital de Clínicas Caracas, with the aim of promoting the well-being of its patients, visitors and general staff, wishes to explore the incorporation of landscaping elements that make the internal spaces of its facilities more pleasant and friendly.
“Healing Gardens”, the name with which we preliminarily identify this proposal, is conceived from the feeling of balance and serenity that contact with nature gives us. To this end, a series of interventions have been conceived in the Clinic, starting with those that occur in key spaces, such as:
Access Hall.
Terrace on Floor 3 – New Oxygen Treatment Plant.
Waiting Rooms at different points of the Clinic and Access Corridor to Basement 3.
Concept
The proposal has an integral character, that is, the elements that make it up cannot be seen as isolated events, but as part of a chain that ensures the aesthetic quality and vitality of the plants.
In this sense, there are spaces that, due to their lighting conditions, require that the plants located there be rotated regularly, such as the Exhibition Gardens; while there are other spaces that will serve for the recovery and growth of the plants, such is the case of the Nurseries.
Entrance Hall (Exhibition Garden)
The cylinder located in the Entrance Hall contains the information area and an ecumenical chapel. It has a leading role within the Hall, due to its location, shape and use. This space is part of the first impression that the visitor gets and the place where one comes into contact with the values of the Clinic, which is why it is proposed to convert this piece into a vegetal element brimming with life.
Terrace of the 3rd Floor – New Oxygen Treatment Plant.
On the Terrace of the 3rd Floor, the installation of a small garden for the use of patients is proposed, in order to help them in their recovery and therapy processes. This area is also a nursery that serves as support for the green areas of the clinic.
Waiting Rooms at different points in the Clinic and Access Corridor to Basement 3.
The idea would be to generate modular devices in wood tones to cover the walls that have been selected. These devices will have the capacity to house some plants, signage, information elements, televisions, etc.
Dining Room
In this area, the incorporation of some plant species is contemplated to promote a relaxed atmosphere and great aesthetic appeal.
