Located immediately north of the Las Mercedes Bridge and under the Francisco Fajardo Highway, there is a group of three tunnels whose narrow sidewalks despise the pedestrian. An anonymous graffiti, on the southern access of the tunnel asks ‘Hay Luz?’ (Is there light?) It gives an account of the lack of artificial lighting in the tunnels but also is an ironic comment about the National Electric Service crisis and the population mood depression.

The intervention collects echoes of a mural of horses that existed more than 30 years ago in the place, connects with even older images inspired by the cave art of caves such as Altamira or Lascaux, linking through the dark and vaulted space of the tunnel, the activities of cavemen to the needs of contemporary venezuelans.

During the event, the vehicular traffic of one of the tunnel channels was temporarily closed, thus widening the sidewalk. A series of lamps installed on the western wall of the tunnel projected onto the wall the figures of men and animals whose presence illuminated and protects the pedestrians. A series of traffic cones with lighting defined the limits of the road accentuating the ‘museum’ condition of the experience.
